  • The JNRC is a drop-in refugee center, run as a non-faith outreach ministry of St Paul’s Within the Walls Church in Rome. It offers vital support to refugees and asylum seekers through a variety of holistic services and programs designed to provide temporary relief from the street and facilitate resettlement or long-term integration.

We offer humanitarian assistance, health and psychological support, legal assistance, free language classes at different levels, and work to get people into jobs.  We truly believe that employment is the most sustainable solution in the integration process and that much of our efforts should aim at promoting self-sufficiency among refugees and helping them build stable, independent lives. Last year we assisted a total of 9,472 guests.

The “JNRC Works” program is an employment clinic made up of 8 to 10 volunteers who write CVs, match CVs to jobs, assist guests in the identification and application to professional courses, teach how to job-search online, provide a general knowledge of the Italian job market, and regularly keep in touch with guests to inform them on possible job opportunities. Many of our guests have long experience in domestic work, teaching languages, gardening, caregiving, babysitting and other kinds of work.

The JNRC Works team has experience in pre-selecting candidates, according to job vacancies, and can offer this service to families who might be interested. Community members that are looking for qualified personnel can contact the JNRC Works Coordinator (Elena Gursky egursky16@gmail.com) .
