Join us for a captivating journey into the heart of the Macchia Grande Oak Forest, where history and nature intertwine. “Enter the Underworld of Etruscan God Manth” invites you to explore this sacred ground, once revered by the Etruscans, alongside a knowledgeable guide.
Discover the ancient allure of this dense forest, famed for its dramatic landscape and bubbling sulfur springs. The site is recognized for both its natural beauty and historical significance, having been a place of ritual for the Romans. As you hike, you’ll gain insights into the geological wonders and mythological tales that make this location unique.
Duration: Approximately 5.5 hours, including breaks and insights from your guide. The hike starts and ends at Piazza Tommaso Tittoni in Manziana Canale-Monterano, offering a loop route that’s easy to medium in difficulty (about 11 kilometers with some uneven terrain). This experience is family-friendly, though children aged 14+ must be accompanied by an adult.
What to bring: Ensure you are equipped with hiking boots, plenty of water, suitable outdoor clothing, and snacks. While other essential items are recommended, they are not mandatory.
