Hike Among Giants: Mt. Velino (2487m) – Abruzzo (Parco Regionale Sirente-Velino)
This is a hike for well-trained hikers only: long stretches of steep uphill terrain, loose rock, exposed sections, and no water sources along the way make it a serious mountain outing. The effort is high, but so is the reward, with one of the most memorable ridge traverses in central Italy.
Full day, about 8–9 hours, 16 km / 10 miles, and 1,400 m / 4,593 ft of elevation gain, this is a challenging route for trained mountain hikers with solid experience and excellent fitness. Book your place to join this exceptional Monte Velino traverse.
