Conte: “In Italy all shops except grocery shops and pharmacies are closed. Transport remains guaranteed. We will see the effects in 14 days”

The announcement of the prime minister live on Fb: “The factories will remain open with security measures. Bank and postal banking services will also continue. The effect of the new effort will be seen in 14 days”. Deputy Secretary of the Democratic Party, Andrea Orlando: “The Democratic Party will support the new measures”. New commissioner for intensive care is Domenico Arcuri.

New squeeze in the contrast to coronavirus. The premier, Giuseppe Conte, speaks live on Facebook in a speech with dramatic features. “Thanks to the Italians who make sacrifices. We are proving to be a great nation,” he begins. Then he lists the new measures: “In the first place there is the health of Italians”, is the premise. Then he explains: “Hairdressers and beauty salons are closed. Essential public services are guaranteed, including transport and utilities. Shops, bars, pubs and restaurants are closed (all day long and not just after 6pm). Home delivery is allowed. The factories will remain open but “with safety measures.” Activities in the agricultural, zootechnical and agri-food processing sectors will be guaranteed, in compliance with hygiene and health regulations, including the supply chains that offer goods and services with respect to these activities “.

“If the numbers continue to grow, which is by no means improbable, it does not mean that we will have to hurry to launch new measures. We will not have to take a blind run towards the abyss. We will have to be clear, responsible,” said Conte. “There is no need to rush to buy food: the grocery stores remain open” is the appeal of Giuseppe Conte. And he closes: “Let’s stay away today to embrace tomorrow”.

Oppositions are satisfied, starting with Salvini and Meloni.

Before Conte’s live intervention, the number two of the Democratic Party, Andrea Orlando, also spoke: “We are sure that the government will take all the further measures necessary to deal with the infection on the basis of the indications of the technical-scientific bodies and the comparison with the regions. As we have always said in these hours, we will support them with determination “.
