Welcome to a beginner’s guide to Ayurveda and Reiki
In our Create Space Roma – Ayurveda & Reiki for Beginners lesson, we will talk all about the benefits of Ayurveda and Reiki, with a presentation and demonstrations. We will also give you some of the herbs and spices mentioned to take home with you.
Ayurvedic medicine encourages whole-body healing, which includes physical, mental, and emotional health. What is Ayurveda you may ask! Here is a simple explanation!
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The course will be lead by Anik who has been a Reiki Master and Ayurvedic therapist for 10 years.
He was born in India, and studied yoga, Naturopathy and ayurvedic therapies. He has been professionally providing Reiki sessions and Ayurvedic practices since 2010.
Ayurveda is considered by many scholars to be the oldest healing science. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life.” Ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.” It stems from the ancient Vedic culture and was taught for many thousands of years in an oral tradition from accomplished masters to their disciples.
Some of this knowledge was set to print a few thousand years ago, but much of it is inaccessible. The principles of many of the natural healing systems now familiar in the West have their roots in Ayurveda, including Homeopathy and Polarity Therapy.
Reiki
The word “Reiki” means “mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign.” It comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy.
Reiki is a type of energy healing. Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or even emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness.
Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. Reiki practitioners believe that improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, relieve pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.
