Join us on an adventurous hike to Lazio’s secret alpine-type glacial lake, Lago della Duchessa, located at approximately 1800 meters above sea level. This hidden gem at the Eastern border of Lazio offers stunning views, natural reserves, and a true wilderness experience. The 5-hour journey, which includes briefings and rest breaks, is perfect for those seeking a medium to difficult-level adventure with a distance of around 10.5 km and an elevation gain of 860 meters.
Led by Sal, a certified professional guide, this hike promises an engaging exploration of beech forests, mountains, and spectacular landscapes. The tour starts and ends at Cartore (Borgorose, Rieti) and is available in English, German, and Italian.
Please prepare with the compulsory hiking essentials: sturdy hiking boots, a 1.5-liter water supply, weather-appropriate clothing, and a packed lunch. Optional items like hiking poles and snacks are also suggested for an enhanced experience. Keep in mind that transport, food, and attraction entrance fees are not included in the tour.
