WELLNESS HIKE BY THE SEA: Discover the relaxing wetlands of Torre Flavia Marsh Natural Monument, spanning 48 hectares along the coast between Cerveteri and Ladispoli. Home to migratory bird species and a rare coastal landscape, this sanctuary boasts sandy dunes, coastal lakes, and abundant wildlife, offering a captivating hiking experience amidst its pristine beauty.

Experience the natural reserve of Torre Flavia, less than 1 hour outside of Rome and conveniently accessible by train.

Start in Marina di Cerveteri, on a trail set partially on a trail among dunes, partially on the beach. On our way back we will enter Ladispoli, from where there is a train back to Rome.

Duration: about 3 hours (the exact time varies, depending on the weather conditions and participants)

ℹ️  Difficulty Level: Easy (Distance: 8 km, elevation gain: 20 m, includes wet terrain, we’ll partially walk on the beach)
ℹ️  The final duration of the hiking event and the itinerary may vary, depending on weather conditions, unexpected obstacles (e.g. a fallen tree along the way), or other safety reasons. It is at the discretion of the professional hiking guide to determine alternatives or to shorten or extend the experience.

This is a professional activity in accordance with European Union legislation and Italian law no. 4 dating to 2003.
Francesco is a professional guide enrolled in the register of the Italian Association of Interpretive Nature Guides – AIGAE.

What should you bring?

Obligatory: Hiking shoes (water proof), 1.5 liters of water, layered clothing suited for a hike, bring your own trail snacks / lunch
Recommended: Comfortable backpack, raincoat, sunscreen, hat (protection from both sun and rain), trail snacks, Dry socks / extra pair of shoes
Optional: Hiking poles, electrolytes, sunglasses

Who is the guide?
Sal, a certified outdoor guide (member of AIGAE), leads this tour. He’s also a former Komoot route editor and a National Geographic Day Tour guide. His mission is to make information about the Italian outdoors and wilderness experiences accessible to everyone and to promote a healthier lifestyle and connection with nature.
